Forest Reproductive Material (Great Britain) Regulations 2002

Description

These regulations provide a system for identifying and controlling seeds, cuttings and planting stock used for forestry purposes by ensuring that material is traceable to a registered source of basic material. There are 46 tree species and one genus (Populus, including aspen, black poplar and grey poplar) listed within the regulations and these are known as the controlled species. The Forestry Commission GB is the body officially responsible for the Forest Reproductive Material Regulations and have powers to ensure compliance.

Part VI contains information on the movement of reproductive material between the UK and elsewhere in the British Isles.

Part VII contains information on compliance with regulations.
