Description

EU rules on plant health aim to protect crops, fruit, vegetables, flowers, and forests from harmful pests and diseases by preventing their introduction into the EU or their spread within the EU. Council Directive 2000/29/EC, which lists certain harmful organisms that may be targeted by specific control measures, provides the basis for this aim.
