Description
The Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) and rural development policy strongly encourage the diversification of the rural activities. Generating non-agriculture based incomes in the rural areas is considered a source of strength.Forestry is considered an integral part of rural development and CAP is oriented athelping farmer in "making more productive use of forests and woodland", and in "enhancing the quality of production and products, improving the marketing for food specialities of the rural regions".
