Micosylva is a technical scientific project aimed at promoting European multifunctional and sustainable forest management integrating and enhancing the ecological and socioeconomic wild edible mushrooms (HSC) functions.
Which problem the instrument is supposed to solve?
Mico-forestry and exploitation of wild mushrooms for forest sustainability and multifunctionality.
Purpose or main objective / overall goal of the instrument?
The Micosylva project aims to answer two needs. On the one hand, it seems that the management plans of forests do not consider to fungi, despite their importance in the nutrition of the trees, their growth and against pathogenic soil protection. Furthermore, it was found that most forest managers do not consider the fact that the production of mushrooms in a forest depend, for example, certain conditions of reforestation. // Micosylva seeks to highlight and take management criteria suitable to address these situations.
Side objectives/goals of the instrument?
To extend the concept of integrated management of forest, proposing and passing to owners, managers, rangers and other stakeholders, criteria for forest management that take into account the ideal conditions for development of both trees and edible wild m
Innovation content or potential of the instrument?
To establish new management rules to ensure a sustainable and multifunctional forest harvesting and Micosylva is proposed: 1. Create an international network of researchers, scientists and technicians, then advise the managers of the mountains. 2. Create a network of micosilva pilot plots. Were launched 18 experimental devices that reflect major Southeast European forest systems in practice to explain fungal forestry. 3. Develop a technical manual providing the criteria to successfully integrate the management of forests and wild edible mushrooms 4. Create and implement programs and tools for the training of current and future managers of the environment and environmental education for youth up. 5. Disseminate information on the fungal forestry.
Which laws and regulations support the implement of this instrument?
Decree 130/1999 of 17 June, which orders and regulates mycological uses, in the mountains located in the Community of Castilla y León. // National Law in progress.
