Description

In 2011 Germany developed the Forest Strategy 2020, which incorporates major findings of the National Forest Programme (carried out since 1999). The goal of the Forest Strategy 2020 is “to develop a viable balance (…) between the growing demands made on forests and their sustainable performance. The basis for this is equal consideration of the three dimensions to sustainability (ecological, economic and social)."
